Two brave boys. Two heart transplants. One family's mission to fight isolation and spread joy — one kernel at a time.
Where it all began
Our two sons — ages 18 and 12 — were both born with Mitochondrial disease, a rare and devastating condition that caused their hearts to fail when they were toddlers. Both boys required a heart transplant to survive. They are our whole world, and they are the reason Brave Hearts exists.
And then there's our Daughter — she keeps the whole operation running with her energy, her hustle, and her heart. She's right there alongside her brothers, helping with the business and making sure Brave Hearts is a true family effort from start to finish.
As it turns out, popcorn has always been the boys' favorite snack. So when we started thinking about how to build something as a family — something all three kids could truly be part of — the answer was right there in the bowl in front of us.
Living with a rare disease brings incredible challenges — not just physical, but social. Disability can be isolating. Traditional workplaces aren't always built for people like our sons. Brave Hearts gives them a way to earn an income, build skills, and contribute on their own terms — in an environment designed around their needs, not in spite of them.
Every bag we sell is a step toward inclusion, awareness, and a life lived fully — not on the sidelines.
